Büchel: A sign of clear commitment to Germany as a business location
Büchel invests around eight million euros in a new production facility according to the industry standard 4.0.
Barchfeld/ Fulda. "Made in Germany" - Quality from Germany, this is the corporate strategy of the Büchel Group, which is implemented step by step. True to the credo of the entrepreneur Erhard Büchel, to produce as many products as possible in Germany and only the most necessary in Asia, a new production facility is currently being built in Barchfeld/Thuringia as a clear commitment to Germany as a production location.
The key element in the construction of a new production and storage hall with a total area of 10,000 square meters is the digitization and automation of production. "Industry 4.0 is no longer a buzzword for us. If we are going to build a new plant, it will be equipped with state-of-the-art production units," explains Ullrich Blanc, Managing Director of the Barchfeld facility. The production of spokes, nipples, wheel protectors and other components for quality bicycles and environmentally friendly pedelecs is due to start at the new location in September of this year.
The current facility is only 500 metres away. It will be used exclusively by the Büchel subsidiary HMM Kunststofftechnik GmbH & Co. KG in the future. Since 2006, high-quality plastic parts and assembly modules have been produced for the automotive, bicycle, electrical, consumer goods and medical technology industries. The company is certified according to the automotive standard IATF 16949-2016. "A new building became necessary due to the growing demand for plastic parts. So, the production of bicycle accessories had to be resettled. Büchel is investing around three million euros in the new building and the machinery is estimated at around five million euros. "This ensures a fully digital network, we receive a significantly higher output and can create new jobs at the same time". For Erhard Büchel, this is a further step in the right direction: bringing production segments lines back from China.
