‘‘Moustache believes that e-bikes are an incredible opportunity for the development of cycling!’’
Moustache is a French e-bike brand that has established itself in the e-bike market in over the past 8 years. They wanted to stand out and make something different than the standard e-bikes that were around at the beginning of this decade and they came with an unique design and brand. But what makes this brand so special? We at Bicle had a look at Moustache e-bikes from France!
Moustache bikes as said, is an e-bike business started eight years ago in 2010 by two ambitious and motivated industrial designer. They had the idea to make e-bikes that weren’t just for the people who wanted sit up, but for those who want to make speed as well. Following that idea, they founded Moustache bikes. The core philosophy of their e-bike is that it has its own identity and is quite trendy as well. They are all equipped with the Bosch e-bike support system, which deliver high technological quality and as a consequence, improve the joy of riding an e-bike.
The name of the business originates from the Moustache. Not the facial hair on a man’s face, but the Moustache handlebars of bicycles, which have been an integral part of the history of cycling. Moustache embraces that and combines that with the story of actually moustaches: “Our handlebars are innovative and can be considered as a modern take on the famous moustache handlebars of the past. Every moustache is unique, every moustache is recognizable, every moustache has a strong identity, just like our bikes!”
What makes this business unique to others is their approach. The frame they use is made in-house and is not manufactured by another party. They design the frame itself and complete the e-bike according to their own standards and wishes, that is what makes Moustache bikes an unique brand of e-bikes. This has all to do with the stubbornness of the owners, but that ultimately has led to success.
They have created different models for different purposes. Those purposes are Urban, Urban Sport, Trekking and different kinds of e-mtb (electronic mountainbikes). The models itself have quite a funny twist if you look at what they are called. They are called after the days of the week - albeit in French - which actually gives it the same unique feeling as the business itself: Lundi, Friday, Samedi, Dimanche and Mercredi.
Leave the car at home
Another integral part of their philosophy is mentioned on their website and it’s called “to leave the car in the garage”. They believe that the Moustache bikes do help the environment. In their words: “Moustache is the strong belief that e-bikes are an incredible opportunity for the development of cycling! As we see it, they are an excellent alternative to cars. A quality e-bike can bring happiness, whether it be in an urban environment, or leisure rides, or for more intense riding.”
This is a great example of thinking of the environment. Now we ask you the question: What would it take for you to leave the car at home and take the bike? Let us know!
